PATRIOTIC DUCK HUNT IN VALDESE
Take your children outdoors for a plastic duck hunt sponsored by Farris Insurance Agency (225 Main St. E., Valdese). A total of 200 ducks will be hidden from Carolina Street to the Old Rock School, each child is limited to one duck, and ducks can be exchanged for prizes at Farris Insurance.

GLEN ALPINE FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
Celebrate America’s 250th birthday in Glen Alpine with the only Fourth of July parade in Burke County.

TOWN OF HUDSON JULY FOURTH KIDDIE CAR PARADE
Families are invited to bring bicycles, wagons, battery-operated cars, golf carts, and other types of kiddie cars to participate in a July Fourth parade presented by the Town of Hudson. Following the parade, other happenings will include a bicycle obstacle course, free pool entry from 1-5 p.m., a bicycle giveaway, and a hot dog lunch.

CITY OF MORGANTON FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW
End July Fourth with a fireworks show that will take place at Morganton’s Freedom Park. Although the park itself will be closed to the public all day Friday and Saturday for setup, residents can watch the fireworks from nearby locations.
