BCPS saw a higher graduation rate last year and measured exceptional academic growth in 17 of its 24 schools, according to the N.C. Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI).

N.C. School of Science and Math's Morganton campus was busy last week as students moved in.
The district decided to play on the “6-7” trend, said Public Relations Officer Cheryl Shuffler, by assembling the “6 to 7 Ways to Win the School Year” list.
The North Carolina School for the Deaf (NCSD) campus was lively on Aug. 17 when new and returning students had their first day of school.
North Carolina School for the Deaf is using new technology called the Enforcer Whistle for its basketball players that gives students a visual cue when the whistle is blown.
