On Aug. 7, the Burke County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the expansion of The Waldensian Heritage Museum, at 208 Rodoret St. S., Valdese. Executive Director Gretchen Costner and Chairman of the Board John Heilman cut the ribbon alongside Valdese Mayor Keith Huffman, team members, friends, and supporters. Also in attendance were District Representative with Congressman Tim Moore’s office, David Guy; Valdese City Councilman Gary Ogle and Councilwomen Rexanna Lowman, Shannon Radabaugh, Melinda Zimmerman, and Heather Ward; Burke County Commissioner Mike Stroud; President of Western Piedmont Community College Dr. Joel Welch; Executive Director of the Burke County Tourism Development Authority Ed Phillips; President and CEO of the Burke County Chamber of Commerce Tonia Stephenson; Burke Chamber Board Member Kevin Farris, Tamika Garrison, Louis Vinay, and Dylan Webb; Chamber Ambassadors Carl Beardsworth, Ryan Cato, Jonathan Craven, Gerald Greene, and Stephanie Lipski.
