The air was filled with anticipation, the strains of "Pomp and Circumstance," the rustle of gowns and enthusiastic cheers. Graduation season in Burke County saw dreams take flight as students celebratd their achievements and prepared for the future ahead.Â
Seven local schools graduated students during the week of May 26.
Students from Burke Middle College received their diplomas on Tuesday, May 27; and North Liberty School, Hallyburton Academy, and Draughn High School presented their seniors on Thursday, May 29. Patton High graduated students on May 30, and Freedom and East Burke high schools held their ceremonies on Saturday, May 31.Â
