In November, deputies responded to a call referencing a cardiac arrest. When they arrived, the child was deceased.
Following the six-month investigation and subsequent arrest, officers took Hensley to the Burke County Magistrate, where he was charged with felony second degree murder "without regard."
Although he was initially held without bail, the judge issued a $300,000 secured bond on May 22 at his first appearance, and appointed Brian Jones as his attorney.Â
Hensley's next appearance in court was set for June 12.
The sheriff’s office said more information will be released “at the appropriate time.”
