Recently California governor Gavin Newsom labeled Donald Trump as an invasive species. I will go a step further and label the almost entire current Republican party as an invasive species.
What I consider to be the real Republican party of which I was a member for over twenty-five years has almost ceased to exist.
An invasive species in the plant world is a species that has left its native habitat and moved to a similar habitat elsewhere. A prime example of an invasive species in the southern United States is a familiar plant known to all southerners as the Kudzu plant. Kudzu was native to Japan but has found a home in the United States.
Kudzu is a vine which wraps itself around trees and shrubs and slowly chokes them to death. This appears to be what is happening to the real Republican party. Perhaps the current Republican party should change its name to the Kudzu party seeing that they both have similar growth patterns.
Chemical herbicides do not affect this political invasive species, only by voting en masse against them can we get back to normalcy.
