Linda Faye Childers Huffman, 81, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 8, 1926, at her residence after a period of declining health.
Linda Huffman was born Oct. 5, 1944, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Clarence and Faye Lail Childers. She retired as a CNA in the health-care industry, and she loved helping with the Samaritan Purse Shoebox Drive each year.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arvin Childers, and the father of her son, Leonard Franklin.
Surviving are her two daughters, Terri Childers and Mandy Lucus of Connelly Springs; a son, Ronnie Franklin (Teresa) of Connelly Springs; two brothers, Berl Childers of Dudley Shoals and Bill Childers of Florence, S.C.; a sister, Martha Hildebrand (Larry) of Connelly Springs; and the father of her daughters, Terry Wayne Huffman. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with the Rev. Devin Hildebrand officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or Samaritan Purse Shoebox Ministries.
