Charlean Causby Anderson

Charlean Causby Anderson, 92, of Valdese, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Grace Village Retirement Center, Granite Falls, after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Anderson was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Thomas Clay Putnam and Charlotte Crisp Putnam Icard. She was a faithful member of Valdese First Baptist Church and retired from Broughton Hospital as a social worker. Charlean was a hard worker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Glenn Anderson; a son, Michael Causby; and a brother, Thomas Putman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Denise Kincaid (Joe) of Lenoir; and four grandchildren, Bruce Ennis, Robert Kincaid, James Causby (Deanna) and Ronnie Causby; great-grandchildren, Tyler Ennis, Andrew Ennis, Lily Kincaid, Jack Kincaid, Harper Kincaid, Ella Causby, Cody Causby, Denver Causby and Dacey Causby; great-great-grandchildren, Grayson Ennis, Clark Ennis, Lincoln Causby, Graylynn Causby, Octavia Causby, Alan Causby; siblings, Ruth Ann Cline, Alvie Putman (Mary), Louise Bond (Bud), and Billy Ray Putman; sister-in-law, Kay Putman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Charlean Anderson will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Valdese First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Josh Lail officiating. Interment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at Valdese First Baptist Church.
