Kaye Scruggs Deal, 84, of Morganton, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at UNC Health Blue Ridge, after a period of declining health.
Kaye was born October 28, 1941, in Gaston County, a daughter of the late Lou Ellen Williams. She retired as Vice President of BB & T Bank after many years of faithful service.Â
Her love of the coast was evident, as she enjoyed living in Murrells Inlet after her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Deal, a brother Larry Scruggs, and a sister Dollie Scruggs.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Donna Deal Norville and husband Mike of Rutherfordton, sister, Debra Walsh Hardin and husband Gregory Verran of Morganton, special Goddaughter, Monica T. Huffman and husband Keith of Connelly Springs, a special niece Susan Capps, and four grandchildren Richard Ashley Rich, Michaela Norville, Erika Micol, and Heather Micol.Â
Funeral Services for Kaye Deal will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Rev. Greg Klapp and Rev. Steve Walsh officiating. Interment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
Memorials may be made to East Valdese Baptist Church, % Kaye Deal Fund.
