Village Inn Pizza officially opened its new location in Morganton on Monday.
The new restaurant, located just off Interstate 40 on Bush Drive near Cracker Barrel, is taking the place of the former location at 1016 Burkemont Ave. The old location’s last day open was Aug. 31 and now sits vacant with painted lettering notifying customers of the new restaurant’s opening.
Village Inn is known for its plethora of hot pizza selections from the classic pepperoni pizza to a chocolatey dessert pizza. Another favorite is the hefty salad bar with a variety of different toppings and dressings.
The property at the old location is owned by Breeden Enterprises, according to Burke County property records, and has been since 1996. It’s unclear yet what the property will be used for.
Village Inn was founded by William “Ray” Lackey in 1967, and the company now has 13 locations in North Carolina. The locations include Statesville, Hickory, Mountain View, Lenoir, Taylorsville, Bethlehem, Mooresville, Morganton, Salisbury, North Wilkesboro, and Lincolnton.
The new location at 125 Bush Drive is open from 11 a.m. to to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
