The Rotary Club of Morganton’s 1-mile Family Fun Run and 5K Zombie Run returns at 10 a.m. (Fun Run) and 11a.m. (Zombie Run) on Saturday, Oct. 10. An after-party featuring activities, live music, food trucks and Fonta Flora Brewery on site, will round out the event. This year’s run proceeds benefit Mountain Aid Project (MAP), a nonprofit providing disaster relief and long-term support to those still affected by Hurricane Helene, and Blue Ridge Community Action’s adult and childcare programs. Fun Run participants receive a pumpkin they can decorate on site and a trick-or-treat bag of candy. Cost for the Fun Run is $10. Zombie Runners receive a long-sleeve race t-shirt and a participation medal while supplies last. Cost for the Zombie Run is $35 through Sept. 30 and $40 afterward.
