Asbury honored with Claude Sitton Award

At the May meeting of the board of directors of the History Museum of Burke County, Louis Asbury was named the 2026 recipient of the Claude Sitton Award. The award recognizes Asbury’s contribution to the museum and recording via film and video the experiences of dozens of county veterans and also those who went through the struggles of the Civil Rights era in the county. Asbury (right) also helped set up a new telephone system for the museum and provided IT support for the audio-video system in the museum’s new annex. Presenting the award was the museum’s new curator, Corwin Keys.
