A man previously on Burke County’s Most Wanted List was arrested on June 7, when deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office worked with Ledford’s Bail Bondsmen to locate Dylan Scott Smith, 24, of Morganton, at an address on New Orleans Boulevard.
Smith was charged with failure to appear on a slew of felonies and misdemeanors across three counties.
Smith's charges stem from a failure to appear in Burke Superior Court for felony insurance fraud under $100,000, two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense, and one misdemeanor second-degree trespassing.
He also received failure to appear charges connected to Catawba County for felony worthless check, felony financial card theft, three felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, and misdemeanor aiding and abetting larceny.
His Caldwell County failure-to-appear charge stems back to one misdemeanor larceny charge.
Smith was issued a secured bond of $34,000 on some charges, with no bond on other charges. His next appearance in Burke court is on July 6.
