FOR THE PAPER
The building that housed Valdese’s 100 Main Restaurant & Bar — named for its location at 100 Main St. E — is officially on the market for $450,000.
It is listed on Lake Norman Realty’s website by Coldwell Banker Newton Real Estate.
The 100 Main restaurant, a Valdese staple, closed permanently in January. Owner Brian Thompson said he was unable to reach an agreement with the potential new property owner at the time that would “allow (the restaurant) to remain sustainable.”
The property is currently owned by Guigou Brothers Inc., according to county documents. The historic building was constructed by Guigou Brothers in 1935.
The sale would include a 1.5-story building on the corner lot. According to the listing, the building has more than 4,400 heated square feet and can seat about 100 customers. It also includes a full bar area.
