MLK Scholarship recipients named

The Burke County NAACP Unit #5367 would like to congratulate the recipients of its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. scholarship. The winners are Shirley Riveria (left) and Taylor Ashmore. Both students attend Western Piedmont Community College. The scholarships were awarded to them at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community-wide Worship Service on Jan. 19. The local branch wishes them the best of luck as they continue to pursue their academic goals.
