The City of Lenoir approved a special use permit on July 28 for the installation of a 145-foot monopole wireless communication tower for Harmoni Towers Gateway LLC.
Harmoni Towers designs, builds, owns, and operates telecommunications infrastructure, serving wireless service providers of all sizes.

According to city officials, there were no concerns presented by the residents in the neighboring lots and the tower will be setback at least 73.1 feet from property lines and 78.7 feet from the nearby PolyChem Alloy building.
The tower will be a passive, unoccupied property with a small driveway branching off from the PolyChem Alloy property. Once a month, someone will attend to the tower for maintenance, and it won’t impact the local traffic.
The special use permit states that the tower facility’s only interaction with surrounding properties will be to provide wireless telecommunications services to the area, producing no odor, vibration, heat, or glare.
The only noise the facility will create is through the back-up generator, which will be limited to emergency purposes and occasional testing.
