The Rotary Club of Morganton will fire up new grills and serve up a community favorite later this month when its annual pancake breakfast returns to the Morganton Community House.
The club’s 63rd annual pancake breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to noon. The event has long been one of Morganton’s signature community gatherings, bringing families together for food, entertainment, and fundraising.
This year, the Rotary Club will be cooking on four new Blackstone grills recently purchased thanks to a deep discount from ACE Hardware.
The breakfast buffet will again feature pancakes with a toppings bar, along with an expanded menu that now includes Hunter’s livermush.
Returning for a second year is the Mimosa bar, available for an additional charge. Organizers say this year’s options will expand beyond the traditional drink to include blueberry, strawberry, and cranberry mimosas, thanks to sponsors Mimosa Insurance and Raiz y Cielo Business Center.
The morning will also include entertainment and activities for families.
The Ukulele Band of Morganton will perform during the event, and children will have the chance to visit with the Easter Bunny for photos. A KidZone will also be available, featuring face painting by TOSS.
A silent auction will again be part of the breakfast, offering opportunities to bid on artwork, experiences, and a variety of household and personal items.
Tickets are $10, and children younger than age 2 attend free.
