The ladies who came out to the East Burke Senior Center for Wednesday’s pottery class took their work — and their socializing — seriously.
The room was filled with nonstop chatter and encouragement as attendees burnished, ribbed, and painted their works of art under the helpful eye of volunteer teacher Judy Medley.
Pottery is one of many classes offered at the East Burke Senior Center in Hildebran. Fitness, card games, sewing, and dancing are just a few available Monday through Friday. Each month also features special classes and activities — virtual events, too.
The Burke Senior Center in Morganton is not to be outdone. Want to crochet, learn to line dance, or play pinochle? All that and so much more is waiting for you.
