The Burke Arts Council Open Art Show, featuring work by local artists in a wide range of media, will be on display through Aug. 29.
The show includes painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, glass, photography, printmaking, jewelry, fiber, mixed media, and digital art.
During the opening reception, $2,000 in prizes were awarded. The awards were selected by juror Courtney Long, MFA, NBCT, an instructor of fine arts at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.

The arts council is at 506 S. Sterling St., and is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. BAC and the show will also be featured during downtown Morganton’s Third Thursday Art Crawl on Aug. 20, 5-7 p.m. Visit burkearts.org for more information.
