Caldwell Musicians Showcase celebrates 28 years
A local tradition is returning to the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center for its 28th year next month.
The Caldwell Musicians Showcase, themed “Saturday Night & Sunday Morning,” will take place on Saturday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m.
The showcase promises an unforgettable journey through the sounds of the South, blending the high-energy grit of Saturday Night blues and country with the soulful, uplifting spirit of Sunday Morning gospel. Audience members are invited to clap their hands and stomp their feet during a joyful exploration of Gospel, Blues, Country, and Soul.
This year’s event features an extraordinary lineup of regional talent, anchored by Andrew Massey and his backing band, the Midnight Americans. They will be joined by a collaborative ensemble of premier vocalists and instrumentalists to bring this year’s theme to life.
Among the featured musicians will be Robert Gucwa, owner, luthier, and instructor at the Morganton Music Patch on South Sterling Street.
The 2026 showcase performers include:
Featured vocalists will be Jordan Hipps, Stevie Hipps Walker, Jolie Dean Hipps, Novalee Soleil Bentley, Romy Lennox Bentley, Scott Pennell, and LaRhonda Carlton.
The evening will be guided by the always charming Nancy Posey, serving as the master of ceremonies.
“The Caldwell Musicians Showcase has always been about celebrating the incredible depth of talent in our community,” Massey said. “This year’s ‘Saturday Night & Sunday Morning’ theme allows us to showcase the full spectrum of our musical heritage — from the rowdy to the reverent.”
