Investigators located a missing Burke County 15-year-old near Mount Jackson in Shenandoah County, Va., around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 — one day after she was reported missing. Two men were arrested in connection to her disappearance.
Officers took Brayan Alexis Vazquez-Hernandez, 23, and Guillermo Alfonso Valenzuela Saldan, 34, into custody in Virginia, where they await extradition back to Burke.
Vazquez-Hernandez was charged with felony kidnapping, and Saldan was charged with accessory after the fact.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). Additional information and photographs of the arrested will be released when available.
Agencies involved aside from the BCSO included the Virginia State Police, the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, and FBI teams from Charlotte and Virginia.
