On Sept. 15, the Burke County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Case Farms’ expansion at 121 Rand St. in Morganton. Owner Thomas Shelton cut the ribbon alongside Morganton City Council member Chris Jernigan, Case Farms board members, employees, and supporters. Also attending were David Guy, district representative for U.S. Rep. Tim Moore; Burke County Commissioner Mike Stroud; Brandon Ruppe, president and CEO of Burke Development Inc.; Joel Welch, president of Western Piedmont Community College; Tonia Stephenson, president and CEO of the Burke County Chamber of Commerce; Burke Chamber board members Bryan Fish, Yanira Paulette, and Myron Stephens; and chamber ambassadors Mackenzie Bostian-Adams, Carl Beardsworth, Ryan Cato, Jonathan Craven, Amy Fisher, Gerald Greene, Kelly Messenheimer, Stephanie Lipski, Peggy Thompson, and Kale Wright.
