ALLEN VANNOPPEN / THE PAPERLead managers with AUMOVIO, a German-based company that emerged out of Continental’s Automotive group, formally unveiled its new brand on Tuesday at the operation’s extensive Morganton operation.
During three sessions throughout the day, David Jones, general manager of the two Morganton plants which supplies brake and safety systems to leading automobile manufacturers globally, shared with workers from all shifts information about AUMOVIO, its vision and focus.
“It's really exciting that we are a part of this loss of a new company,” Jones said during the afternoon session. “It's a new day for us. We have an opportunity for us to grow as a company, to experience great things, and to be led by a group of people who have a vision about the automotive industry.”
Globally, AUMOVIO has 87,000 employees, and 100 locations in 25 countries with 2024 revenue of about $22 billion. Its headquarters is in Frankford, Germany.
In Morganton AUMOVIO combined footprint totals 361,712 square feet across 45 acres, and employs about 400 workers. The two Morganton plants represent AUMOVIO sole North American operations that build the high-tech, braking safety systems.
