NCSSM-Morganton tennis shuts out Piedmont Community Charter
NCSSM-Morganton girls tennis player Leah Gibson prepares for a forehand return during a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A Conference match against Piedmont Community Charter on Sept. 17 at Freedom Park in Morganton. The Lady Dragons moved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league play courtesy of a 9-0 win over the Lady Patriots, with Gibson winning 6-2, 6-2 on the No. 1 singles line. Other singles victories for NCSSM-M came from Elizabeth Lee at No. 2 (6-2, 6-2), Shrika Chatta at No. 3 (6-0, 6-1), Anjana Ramanujam at No. 4 (6-1, 6-1), Khushi Kondra at No. 5 (6-4, 6-1), and Anamika Hareesh at No. 6 (6-1, 6-1).

In addition to her singles win, Hareesh also teamed with Shreshta Vemula for an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles, with other doubles wins for the Lady Dragons coming from Anjana Ramanujam/Harshika Chenchu (8-1) at No. 1 doubles and Shayla Ange/Katlyn Morgan (8-1) at No. 3 doubles.
