The National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Organization recognized East Burke High School’s FFA chapter in the 2025 National Chapter Award Program last week.
The FFA chapter, managed by Agriculture Teacher and East Burke FFA Advisor Malachi Curtis, traveled to Indianapolis to receive the two-star recognition at the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo.
The program celebrates chapters across the country that consistently perform the mission and strategies of the organization, awarding a one, two, or three-star rating that was determined by judges over the summer.
The National FFA Organization stated, “Truly a mark of their exceptionalism, less than 10% of chapters nationwide are given a ranking from the National FFA Organization …These chapters improve chapter operations using the National Quality FFA Chapter Standards and a Program of Activities that emphasizes growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture.”
