UNC Health Blue Ridge’s outpatient experience is among the finest in the nation according to Women’s Choice Award, a trusted referral source for the best in healthcare.
This recognition signifies that UNC Health Blue Ridge is in the top 9% of hospitals nationwide in outpatient experience, based on a review of almost 5,000 hospitals. The award also recognizes a hospital where patients feel heard, supported, and cared for with professionalism and compassion.
Women’s Choice Award identifies the country’s best hospitals and healthcare facilities using such criteria as relevant clinical performance, patient satisfaction, and appropriate accreditations to help women make smart healthcare choices.
Award winners are selected using the most recent publicly available clinical data from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient satisfaction survey results, relevant accreditation information from appropriate sources, and the American Hospital Directory.
UNC Health Blue Ridge scored 83% for outpatient recommendation.
“Every day and for every patient interaction, our imaging and outpatient teams put the patients first, caring for them as if they were their own family, and we strive to provide excellent quality of care, with fast results and safe outcomes,” UNC Health Blue Ridge Outpatient Executive Director Elisabeth Campbell-Wright said.
Outpatient areas included in the award are primary care clinics, specialty physician practices, imaging and diagnostics (mammography, CT, MRI, ultrasound), infusion or oncology services, rehabilitation (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy), cardiac rehab, behavioral health, care coordination and navigation, and lab services.
“We are extremely proud of this endorsement by Women’s Choice Award and our patients,” UNC Health Blue Ridge President and CEO Gary Paxson said. “This is a testament to the dedicated healthcare professionals at UNC Health Blue Ridge and their excellence in providing care to the women and their families of our community.”
