Members of the Quaker Meadows Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution delivered snacks to Burke County EMS personnel Sunday, Oct. 18, in appreciation of their service to county residents.
Chapter Regent Nancy Harris, First Vice Regent Sylvia Medford, and member Alice Ayers visited the new Burke County EMS headquarters on N.C. 18 South to make the donation.
The chapter selected the EMS station as its October service project, marking the anniversary of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s founding on Oct. 11, 1890.
The DAR is a women’s service organization whose members trace their ancestry to individuals who contributed to American independence during the Revolutionary War. Its chapters support historic preservation, education, patriotism, and community service.
