Rex Willis grew up in Morganton and has been trying to bring an outdoor movie theater experience to Burke County for several years. His mobile theater company, The View, debuts this weekend with double features on Friday and Saturday night at the Drexel fairgrounds.
Burke County residents can enjoy movies under the stars this weekend as Morganton native Rex Willis launches The View, a mobile outdoor theater, at the Drexel fairgrounds.
The View will show double features this Friday and Saturday night. (Licensing agreements prohibits him from naming the movies in the media though he does mention the names on his social media.)
Gates open between 6 and 7 p.m.
Tickets are cash-only: $25 per carload or $6.25 for walk-ins.
Concessions will include popcorn, boxed candy, drinks, and food from Taste of Philly Flava.
Willis said he hopes the mobile theater brings the community together and could lead to more events across Burke, Catawba, and Caldwell counties.
