Burke County confirmed its first case of the measles on Monday.
According to a Facebook post by Burke County Public Health, possible exposure locations and times included:
Feb. 13 at the Walmart Supercenter at Morganton Heights from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Feb. 14 at NY Hibachi Buffet in Hickory from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Feb. 14 at Bo’s Family Entertainment in Lenoir from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Feb. 17 at UNC Health Blue Ridge’s Valdese ER from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
Burke County Public Health suggests watching for symptoms such as a fever, cough, runny nose, red watery eyes, and a rash that starts on the face and spreads over the body.
If you believe you have measles but were not at any of these locations, stay home. Contact Burke County Public Health at 828-764-9150 or your primary doctor for guidance on next steps.
