Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety arrested a carjacker who attempted to take a family vehicle by force last month on Tuesday, earning him more than two dozen charges and a hefty bond.

Through community tips, investigation, and surrounding law enforcement agencies, MDPS identified and arrested Bradley Thomas Sain, 43, of Granite Falls.
The Burke County Magistrate gave Sain 30 charges, including one count of felony attempted common law robbery, 24 counts of felony breaking and entering into a vehicle, one count of felony breaking and entering into a building, one count of felony larceny after breaking and entering a building, two counts of misdemeanor attempting to break and enter into a building, and one count of misdemeanor simple assault.
Alongside MDPS, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Probation and Parole assisted in the investigation.
Sain received a $778,618 secured bond. His first appearance in court is Jan. 15.
