The Valdese Stitchery is closing after seven years, making it the second store to leave downtown Valdese in the last few weeks.
The downtown storefront announced in August 2024 that the business would be closed at the end of the year.
“After seven great years, we have made the difficult decision to close our Valdese storefront at the end of 2024. We cannot express our gratitude enough for your support in our small business over the years,” the business said.
The business had a store closing sale last week as they cleared out inventory. On the door, a sign was posted stating that the business property was for sale. This includes the 1,200-square-foot retail space/fixtures and an upstairs two-bedroom, one-bath apartment of the same size.
