Teramore Development will appear before Morganton Planning and Zoning Commission to request a zoning change at 1807 S. Sterling St., a parcel adjacent to this corner lot, to allow for a new Dollar General.
Real estate developer Teramore Development is expected to appear before the Morganton Planning and Zoning Commission next month to request a zoning change that would allow a new Dollar General on South Sterling Street.
For the Dollar General to be possible, the property at 1807 S. Sterling St. would need to be rezoned to a High Intensity District Corridor Overlay (HID-CO) and High Intensity District (HID).
Officials connected with the project said that Teramore intends to close its Dollar General store on N.C. 18 S. and open a new one on the .3-acre lot near the corner of Sloan Avenue and South Sterling Street, owned by Norvell Co. Ltd, Partnership.
That lot has 500 feet of street frontage.
Teramore has developed several Dollar General properties throughout the Southeast, including in Morganton. In addition to building Dollar General, Teramore has developed Publix Food & Pharmacy, Dunkin’ Donuts, Sleep Number, Vitamin Shoppe, and other retail operations.
