Ava Aldridge, Draughn softball

Position: Outfield, first base

How long have you played this sport? Since I was 9 years old.

Why should others try this sport? Because it creates a family, it gives you new friends, and it gives you a drive to do something important for yourself. It’s not just for yourself, it’s also for your team, and if you can do something important for yourself, you can contribute to a good thing for a team and a school program.

What do you enjoy most about representing your school? I just enjoy creating a good name for it and creating a good background for it so that when kids come up to the softball program, they think about the good programs and the good teams that we’ve had in the past, and I’ve been a part of that.

Position: Pitcher, outfield

How long have you played this sport? Seven or eight years.

Why should others try this sport? I just think that it’s a good environment, you make so many friends, and it’s always good to try something even if you’ve never tried it before. It’s also really fun.

What do you enjoy most about representing your school? I honestly just enjoy making it a better place for the freshmen coming up. Younger siblings come and see these games, they see us out here winning and doing great, and that just makes me happy that they know that we’re dedicated to this. That makes them want to come in and join the team.
