The Draughn cheerleading teams increased their state title count to three during the 2025-26 school year as both the JV and varsity competition squads each recently won North Carolina Cheerleading Coaches Association (NCCCA) championships. The NCCCA state championships were set to be held in January but were postponed due to snow and held remotely. The titles follow the varsity’s NCHSAA Small DII Game Day division title in Concord in January, an event in which the JVs placed second in the Non Tumbling DII Game Day division.
The Draughn varsity small gameday state champs included Ella Refour, Kaitlin Colella, Nadia Short, Ella Causby, Heather Holleman, Madison Bowman, Nala Lee, JaNiya Hart, Cali Absher, Ryley Bridges, Adaiya Greenlee, Kaylee Denton, Madelyn Reed, Mallory Byers, Landrey Pritchard, and Gloriana Epps.
The Draughn JV gameday non tumbling state champs were Gabriella Ragler, Sydney Greene, Parker Stephens, Julia Rhyne, Madelyn Biggerstaff, Kayley Abee, Evyona Hang, Emma Edwards, Kendall Branch, Molli Sossamon, Layla Smith, Karen Deleon, Catherine Gilleland, and Addison Farris. Both DHS teams are coached by Macy and Olga Dula.
