The host East Burke boys tennis team defeated R-S Central by a 9-0 score on Wednesday in Icard to run its record to 12-0 overall and 9-0 in the Western Piedmont 3A/4A Conference, clinching its first regular-season league title since 1975 and setting a school record for most overall wins in a season. East Burke girls soccer players celebrate an Alexandra Ruiz Cisneros goal against rival Draughn on March 24 in Valdese. The Lady Cavaliers won, 2-1, and were victorious again this past week for their second straight league victory.

The Patton boys golf team hit its stride this week, claiming its first Western Piedmont 3A/4A Conference match of the spring on Monday at Cedar Rock Country Club in Lenoir and following that up by winning the Burke County tournament title on Wednesday at Silver Creek Golf Club.
