The Town of Valdese is currently illuminated with Christmas festivities. The holiday spirit was ignited by the lighting of the Hatley Memorial Tree in front of the Old Rock School on Dec. 3, accompanied by free hot chocolate and a heartwarming carol concert by Valdese Elementary School students. This annual event pays tribute to former Mayor Jim Hatley, embodying his vision for community involvement. Residents and visitors flocked to the Christmas parade on Dec. 7, where floats, bands, and Santa Claus paraded through the streets, creating joyous moments. Musical performances like "Miracle on 34th Street" and the upcoming Carolina Christmas Show at the Old Rock School continue to spread cheer throughout the holiday season in Valdese.
