A yard sale to benefit Mimosa Christian Counseling Center will be held June 12-13 in the fellowship hall of Morganton’s First Baptist Church.
Hours for the yard sale are 4-6:30 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Volunteers will be at the church on Thursday, June 11, from noon to 7 p.m. to accept items for the sale.

FOR THE PAPER
“This is quite the event,” said the Center’s Executive Director Callie Perez. “It’s been held annually for as long as I can remember and it’s sort of a combination yard sale and social event.”
Likely to be available at the sale, Perez said, are electronics, furniture, outdoor supplies, books, works of art, handbags, and clothing for all ages.
Funds raised through the yard sale will go to support the Center’s scholarship program, which allows “folks who otherwise could not afford our services” to see a certified counselor at the Center.
Perez emphasized that volunteers are needed for all three days but are especially important at the end of the sale on Saturday when the fellowship hall needs to be cleared.
As stated on its website, the mission of Mimosa Christian Counseling Center is to: Restore hope and relationships for a better community through Christ-centered professional counseling.
