On Aug. 19, the Burke County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Chicken Salad Chick at 1016 Burkemont Ave. in Morganton. Owners Allison Anderson and Sunny Murtaza cut the ribbon alongside Morganton Mayor Pro Tem Wendy Cato, employees, friends, and supporters. Also attending were Scott Deviney, CEO of Chicken Salad Chick; Burke County Commissioner Brian Barrier; Joel Welch, president of Western Piedmont Community College; Tonia Stephenson, president and CEO of the Burke County Chamber of Commerce; Burke Chamber board members Shaun Cline, Bryan Fish, Tamika Garrison, Tammy Lail, Lily Laramie, and Myron Stephens; and chamber ambassadors Mackenzie Bostian-Adams, Carl Beardsworth, Gerald Greene, Janet Hannah, Stephanie Lipski, and Kelly Messenheimer.
