Richey May expands Morganton office with 3 new accountants

A Morganton accounting firm has added three professionals to its local office as it continues expanding services across western North Carolina.

Richey May North Carolina announced the hiring of Christian Castell and Jamie Guerrero-Morales as staff accountants and Tammy Brooks as a senior accountant in its Morganton office on North Sterling Street.

Castell earned a Bachelor of Science in finance and a Master of Science in accounting from East Carolina University. During graduate school, he was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, an international accounting honor society.

He enjoys playing golf, watching sports, collecting rare bourbons, and building computers and keyboards. Castell lives in Hickory and is involved in church planting with his father, who serves as an Associate Reformed Presbyterian pastor.

Guerrero-Morales holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration in management, a Bachelor of Science in business administration in accounting and a Master of Science in accounting with a concentration in taxation from Appalachian State University.

She is an active alumni member of Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority. Her interests include weightlifting, martial arts, and maintaining a large plant collection. Guerrero-Morales attends St. Aloysius Catholic Church and lives in Hickory with her husband, Jose, and their dog, Cowboy.

Brooks brings more than 30 years of accounting experience in payroll, bookkeeping and tax return preparation with both private companies and public accounting firms.

Originally from Eastern North Carolina, Brooks moved to Western North Carolina in 2004. She enjoys traveling to the beach, exploring new places and visiting antique stores. Brooks recently married and has four children, two stepchildren, and five grandchildren. She lives in Lenoir.
