Burke County continued to show entrepreneurial momentum in July 2025, with 61 new business entities filed with the North Carolina Secretary of State.
The registrations include a broad cross-section of sectors—ranging from construction, lawn care, and consulting to retail, publishing, and ministry—underscoring the county’s economic and cultural diversity.
With 38 of the 61 new filings, Morganton continues to lead the county in business formation. Startups range from traditional trades like DL Electric Services, JVS Concrete, and Blue Ridge Septic Service to niche lifestyle and wellness ventures like Sips and Sweets NC, Sprout & Bloom Co., and The Silk Tree LLC.
Entrepreneurial women also left their mark. Among several women-led entities were Ev & Bloom Co. by Jade Woolridge Norman, Sincerely Snatched by KD by Daliyha Foster, and Blissful Bloom and Beasts by Kristi Lynn Hosfard.
Faith-based and nonprofit sectors were represented with three new incorporations: Wyatt Austin Ministries, Freedom High School Class of 2000, and Yehudah Family Ministries.
Connelly Springs saw eight new businesses, largely focused on trades and services. Brittain’s Tree & Crane LLC and Brittain’s Tree Service LLC, both registered by Robert S. Reece at the same address, suggest a growing local presence in tree removal and heavy equipment services.
The town also welcomed KFK Tire Distributor, LB’s Lawncare, George Handyman Services, and Legacy Game Tables, illustrating a practical, hands-on economic footprint.
Valdese registered seven new businesses, with entries like MoveGO Marketplace LLC (tech/retail), Extreme 3D Customs (custom auto design), and Structure & Style LLC (construction/design), showing a healthy mix of innovation and craftsmanship.
This July’s 61 new filings represent a 45% increase from the county’s 2025 monthly average of around 42 new registrations, marking the second consecutive month of above-average growth. The trend aligns with broader statewide increases in new LLC formations, potentially driven by sustained consumer demand and ongoing access to small business funding programs.
