Carolina Caring has been named one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2026, marking the eighth consecutive year the nonprofit healthcare organization has received the national recognition.
The award recognizes health care organizations across the country for employee engagement and workplace culture. Modern Healthcare partners with Workforce Research Group on the assessment process, which includes an employee survey.
Carolina Caring serves Burke and a dozen other counties across Western North Carolina and the Charlotte region. The organization provides care for patients and families facing serious illness.
“This recognition means so much because it reflects the culture that all of our employees and leadership help create every day,” said Christina McNally, president and CEO of Carolina Caring. “I want to thank every member of our organization for continuing to make Carolina Caring a place where people feel valued, supported and connected to meaningful work. This achievement belongs to all of you.”
Carolina Caring will learn its ranking at the 2026 Best Places to Work in Healthcare Awards Gala on Sept. 16 in Houston.
“Healthcare is changing rapidly as new technologies are adopted on both the clinical and administrative sides,” said Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. “Still, the most forward-looking companies understand that employees are the heart of their organizations.”
