Burke United Way offers assistance for Hurricane Helene recovery

Burke County United Way (BCUW) has launched an online application process to assist residents affected by Hurricane Helene.

Burke County residents (those with established residency at the time of the hurricane) may apply for assistance to help mitigate ongoing needs.

This assistance program has been made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of corporate donors who contributed to BCUW’s Hurricane Relief Fund, including Leviton Foundation, Big Lots Foundation, Brown Mountain Bottleworks, Community Foundation of North Carolina, Cummings (Meriton), Davidson Holland & Whitesell, Dogwood Health Trust, Duke Energy Foundation, Eastern United Christian Liberty, First Horizon Bank, Gateway Foundation, George Foundation, the Governor’s Grant, Master Gardener Volunteer Association, Mimosa Insurance, Root & Vine, Siegwork USA, United Way of North Carolina, United Way World Wide; as well as our generous individual donors.

How to Apply:

To access the application, visit bcuw.org/helene-application. The application is offered in both English and Spanish. Applications are available online only and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Once processed, BCUW will contact applicants regarding the next steps. The application is intended for unmet needs; it is not available for reimbursement of past expenses.

If approved, payments will be made directly to vendors — such as hardware or furniture stores — rather than to the applicant.
