Burke County Chamber hosts ribbon cutting ceremonies
The Burke County Chamber of Commerce provided to The Paper last week a photo of a ribbon cutting on May 15 for the Town of Rutherford College’s new outdoor stage located at 980 Malcolm Blvd., Rutherford College. Mayor Yates Jensen cut the ribbon alongside Town of Rutherford College Council members, Kress Berry, Carroll Hoyle, and Darrell Malcolm, and Town Manager Jessica Bargsley. Also in attendance were Burke County Commissioner Mike Stroud; President of Western Piedmont Community College, Dr. Joel Welch; President and CEO of the Burke County Chamber of Commerce Tonia Stephenson; Chamber Board member Tamika Garrison; and Chamber ambassadors, Carl Beardsworth, and Gerald Greene.
On June 2, the Burke County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for Marquee Cinemas, located at 101 S. Green St., Morganton, and provided this photo to The Paper last week. Manager Garland Roberts cut the ribbon alongside Morganton Council member Chris Jernigan, Jerry Norvell, family, team members, friends, and supporters. Also in attendance were City Councilman Butch McSwain and Councilwoman Molly McKay; Burke County Commissioner Mike Stroud; Morganton Main Street Manager Makenzie McGinnis; President of Western Piedmont Community College Dr. Joel Welch; Executive Director of the Burke County Tourism Development Authority Ed Phillips; President and CEO of the Burke County Chamber of Commerce Tonia Stephenson; and Chamber Board members Bryan Fish, Tamika Garrison, Raul Hernandez, Lily Laramie, Tonya Little, and Myron Stephens; Board Member and Ambassador Tammy Lail; Chamber ambassadors Mackenzie Bostian-Adams, Carl Beardsworth, Amy Eades Fisher, Lauren Huskey, Kelly Messenheimer, Stephanie Lipski, and Chance Wright.
