The Division II regular-season champion Morganton Day Titans youth soccer team won the Burke County Recreation Department’s 2025 outdoor fall league tournament title on Thursday, Nov. 6, over Division I regular-season champion Forest Hill in a match played at the Mountain View Elementary School field in Morganton.
In the ages 11-12 division on Nov. 6 at Mountain View, the top-seeded Hillcrest Cougars downed No. 3 seed Forest Hill – last year’s unbeaten regular-season champion – to follow up its first-place regular-season finish by claiming the county tournament championship. The ages 9-10 title game was originally scheduled for Monday but postponed to late Thursday evening due to frigid temperatures. See next week’s edition for more coverage.
