The Burke County Post 21Â senior- and junior-level American Legion Lady Fastpitch softball teams both start the 2025 season this week.
The teams' complete schedules were announced on Monday, the same day that the Post 21 junior team travels to face Cherryville Post 100 at Cherryville's Ballard Park.
The Post 21 senior team, which returns for the first summer since 2022, opens its season on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. with a five-inning home doubleheader against Davidson Post 8.
Both the senior and junior squads will use Patton High School for all home games this summer with the Catawba Meadows Park fields still not available for use after flooding from Hurricane Helene in the fall.
All junior and senior contests are expected to be played as five-inning doubleheaders. The senior team also has home contests slated for June 18 and June 25, while the junior team's home dates are set for June 9, June 16, and July 14.
Both the senior and junior seasons end with the state tournaments, which are scheduled for July 28-31.Â
