A Morganton man remains in jail after being arrested on multiple drug-related charges.
On May 21, 2024, after several months of investigation, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations/Narcotics Division executed a search warrant for the residence of Kyle Blackburn Brown, 38, at 301 Salem Road Apt. B, Morganton. The search led to the seizure of approximately 53 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, approximately 31 grams of suspected Fentanyl, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and two firearms.
Brown was transported to the Magistrate’s Office where he was charged with Felony Trafficking of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia. He was then confined to the Burke County Jail after receiving no bond.
On May 22, he received additional charges related to the suspected narcotics found inside the residence. These charges include Felony Possession with Intent/Sell/Manufacture/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon, and Felony Trafficking Fentanyl.
On May 23, 2024, Brown received a $500,000 secured bond. As of Saturday, May 25, Brown remains in jail. His next court date is scheduled for June 13.Â
