On Saturday, March 28, Indivisible Burke NC will join a nationwide wave of action by hosting a No Kings III event at the Historic Burke County Courthouse Square.
From 12:30-3:30 p.m., community members will gather to stand against the current administration’s authoritarian shift and the erosion of fundamental constitutional rights.
As reports of warrantless federal actions, the targeting of citizens, and the bypassing of due process continue to rise, Indivisible Burke NC is focused on building a durable infrastructure of resistance. This event marks a critical moment in the group’s 2026 action plan, which includes connecting with local partners who share our vision and adding our collective voice to what we hope will be the largest peaceful protest in American history.
“We are watching an unprecedented challenge to the checks and balances of our democracy,” says the Indivisible Burke NC Leadership Team. “Our response is to organize, to connect with our neighbors, and to stand firm in our resolve. We are not just protesting; we are building the foundation for a future where no one is above the law.”
The theme for the afternoon is “Make Joyful Noise.” Drawing on the rich American tradition of nonviolent dissent, the event will use music and community solidarity as a form of resistance. The gathering is designed to be a peaceful, high-energy celebration of democracy and neighborly love.
All community members who value the Constitution and the protection of their neighbors are welcome to attend. For more information and updates on the speaker lineup, please visit www.indivisibleburkenc.org or follow Indivisible Burke NC on social media.
