Electric providers are making progress with each passing day following the tremendous damages from Hurricane Helene.
All directions of Burke County have experienced outages from the hurricane, with some recovering faster than others.
The following information was gathered from various electric providers and is current as of 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.
DUKE ENERGY
Countywide, Duke Energy estimates 15,943 customers are without power. In North Carolina, there are 309,035 customers without power.
Spokesperson Jeff Brooks reported that crews are throughout Burke and western North Carolina to restore power to customers. Since the power outages began, nearly 30% of customers are back on.
Those still in the dark will see power restoration this week. Crews expect to be wrapped by Friday, Oct. 4.
Brooks explained there is considerable work to be done with the challenging
