These three Burke County Public Schools fourth graders didn’t just understand the assignment, they nailed it, earning top honors in the annual American Heart Association and UNC Health Blue Ridge Healthy HeART Art Contest.

Hospital and American Heart Association representatives surprised the winners at their schools with brand new bikes and helmets as prizes, an exciting and healthy reward.

FOR THE PAPERThe winning posters are traditionally displayed at the Catawba Valley Heart Ball, scheduled for Feb. 7.
