AMOREM, a leading nonprofit provider of hospice and palliative medicine services in western North Carolina, is proud to recognize November as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month.
This year’s theme, “We See the Whole You,” highlights the organization’s commitment to treating each patient as a unique individual, honoring their experiences, values and hopes, while providing personalized, high-quality and compassionate care.
At AMOREM, hospice and palliative medicine focus on supporting the whole person — body, mind and spirit.
The organization’s care teams focus on caring for each patient as a unique individual, delivering care that respects their wishes and values, while guiding and supporting families and loved ones every step of the way.
“At AMOREM, hospice and palliative medicine are about more than managing symptoms,” says CEO April Moore. “Our care affirms the beauty and value of every life. We see the whole person — their story, their hopes and their legacy — and surround each individual and family with compassion and respect.
“National Hospice and Palliative Care Month,” she went on, “highlights AMOREM’s commitment to providing comfort and dignity while strengthening our deep connection to the communities we serve.”
AMOREM encourages the community to learn more about hospice and palliative medicine services, get involved through volunteer opportunities, and explore educational resources to make the care journey easier.
AMOREM is the result of the 2021 merger of two like-minded, respected, and well-established North Carolina organizations — Burke Hospice and Palliative Care and Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care — to maintain the legacy of community-based hospice care.
As a nonprofit, AMOREM offers a host of life-affirming services such as music and pet therapy, veterans programs, counseling and community grief support and education.
AMOREM provides this care to anyone who needs it, regardless of ability to pay. As AMOREM, we offer our communities more quality, more compassion and more support. For more information, visit www.amoremsupport.org or call 828-754-0101.
